About Me

I grew up here in the lower mainland, first in Richmond and then in the Surrey/Delta area. I then spent a decade or so in the Okanagan, where I obained a bachelor's degree in psychology with a minor in philosophy. Following this I spent several years writing science fiction books, and then later got into the CST program at BCIT, from which I have now graduated and am working in the field.  Now I am happily now coming back to my writing.

I've always been a big techie; always been interested in hardware and how things work.  I've always enjoyed using cool technology, as well as been curious about what goes on under the hood and what makes it all go.  Going to BCIT for software development was a bit of a gamble, but it's really paid off so far.  I shot for a minimum of grown up work I didn't hate, and so far I've far exceeded that bar.

More personally, I'm a lifelong learner and am always trying to learn everything I can about everything. I have an 800 hour backlog podcast playlist and randomly watch youtube videos about things like the history of gas lanterns.  I enjoy running and would like to run a marathon some day. I enjoy video games; I'm a Nintendo boy for life but I also love my PS5 now, and although I've said forever that XBox is the devil, I broke down and got a Series X, if only to play the only Ace Combat game I couldn't otherwise play! I love science fiction and comedy, especially when put together; I am definitely the target demographic for Lower Decks.  I also enjoy good grown up compelling drama with earned narrative arcs and personal journeys (unlike Star Trek: Discovery).
